Running away from home is not the answer!
•
Draw up a list of difficulties that you face
• Talk it
over with your parents, or if this is not possible, talk to
an adult whom you trust (a relative, your teacher, your chaplain)
• If this
still doesn't work, ask for help from the local juvenile protection
agency. They are usually quite busy, but their main task is
to help families in trouble.
• Is it urgent
to leave the home?
Be warned, on the streets you are exposed to all sorts
of danger. Things like, illicit drugs, prostitution, kidnapping.
Be careful with sweet talks, and "people like yourself
who have found a solution" phrases. Talk to a person
whom you trust and whose job is to find you a safe place.
• Think of
calling a help line specifically designed for youngsters in
trouble. Click on the following
