How did this day of commemoration come about? |
|
On 25th of May 1979 a 6 years old child, Etan Patz, went missing in New York. From that day, each year, many organizations commemorated this day. It is only in 1983 that the president of the United-States declared this day as the "missing children day".
Since 1986, 25th of May is also commemorated in Canada, and we are taking the initiative of introducing this day of remembrance and hope, this year in Europe.
